INEAA's governance structure is designed to ensure institutional independence, procedural impartiality, and consistent application of accreditation standards across all evaluation activities and jurisdictions.

Governance Principles

Independent by design

All accreditation decisions are made free from commercial, political, or institutional influence. INEAA's governance structure separates operational management from accreditation decision-making, ensuring that no single individual or body can exert undue influence over outcomes.

Evaluators are required to declare conflicts of interest before accepting any assignment. Where a conflict is identified, the evaluator is recused and replaced. INEAA does not accept financial arrangements that could compromise the impartiality of any evaluation outcome.

Governance Structure

Five governing bodies

Board of Accreditation Commissioners
Final Authority
The governing authority of INEAA. Responsible for institutional policy, governance standards, and all final accreditation decisions. Members are appointed for fixed terms and are subject to conflict of interest restrictions.
Quality Assurance & Compliance Committee
Compliance Oversight
Reviews institutional compliance documentation, monitors ongoing accreditation status, and recommends corrective actions or sanctions where appropriate.
Accreditation Review Council
Evaluation Management
Conducts peer evaluations, technical reviews, and inter-rater calibration across evaluation teams. Prepares formal evaluation reports for Board consideration.
Educational Standards Advisory Panel
Standards Guidance
Provides expert guidance on sector-specific academic frameworks, emerging educational models, and the ongoing development of INEAA standards.
International Evaluation Team
Field Evaluation
Executes on-site and virtual institutional audits in accordance with INEAA evaluation protocols. Submits completed Scoring Rubrics and Evaluation Reports to the Accreditation Review Council.

Leadership

The Board of Accreditation Commissioners comprises independent professionals drawn from higher education, educational governance, quality assurance, and international regulatory practice. Board members are appointed through an open, merit-based selection process and serve fixed terms.

Integrity Policies

Conflict of Interest Policy

All INEAA Board members, evaluators, and staff are required to declare any professional, financial, personal, or institutional relationship with any institution under evaluation before their involvement in that review. Where a conflict — real or perceived — is identified, the individual is recused from that process.

Evaluators must not have been employed by, contracted to, or enrolled at an institution within the preceding two (2) years before they may evaluate that institution. All evaluators sign the INEAA Evaluator Code of Conduct upon appointment, which incorporates binding conflict of interest and confidentiality obligations.
